WHAT IS THE NORTHWEST TERRITORIES HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES SYSTEM?

The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services System (NWT HSS System) is made up of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA), the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority (HRHSSA), the Tłįchǫ Community Services Agency (TCSA – Health), and the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS).

These three health authorities, along with DHSS, provide health and social services support to all 33 communities in the Northwest Territories.

The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority, serves 5 regions and a total of 27 communities. 

The Tłı̨chǫ Community Services Agency provides health and services in the 4 Tłı̨chǫ communities of Behchokǫ̀, Gamètì, Whatì, and Wekweètì.

The Hay River Health and Social Services Authority supports the community of Hay River, while also providing support to 6 outlying communities.
