The Targeted Academic Support Program (TASP) provides financial support of up to $50,000 to front line health and social services professionals employed in indeterminate health and social services professions within the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services System (HSS System), including NTHSSA, HRHSSA, TCSA (Health), and DHSS.
After a temporary hold on the program due to COVID-19 efforts, TASP will re-open to accept applications for online and distance education courses only for the 2020/2021 fiscal year. TASP is intended for employees seeking to expand their scope of practice by attaining academic or technical training offered through accredited post-secondary academic institutions.
While we continue to support and encourage the development and education of our staff, we are committed to the health and safety of all NTW residents, and we must follow and adhere to the directive, and orders of the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer. We will continue to review and update our program guidelines in alignment with the pandemic response, and appreciate the united front from staff in putting the health and well-being of all staff, patients, clients, residents and their families first.
Please Note: Training outside of the NWT will require special permission due to COVID 19.
Applicants can apply for funding to support full-time or part-time studies via distance education or on-line learning by submitting completed application Forms and supporting documentation via email to: HSSPrograms@gov.nt.ca.
The deadline for submission is September 18, 2020.
