WHAT CELL PHONE AND INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE SUPPORTED IN THE NWT?
Residents have a variety of options when it comes to internet and cell coverage in the Northwest Territories.
NorthwesTel is the largest provider in the North, offering Internet, TV and cellular services. A store is located in Yellowknife, with additional customer service support by email, telephone, and live chat. SSi Micro offers internet services in the Northwest Territories. They have a number of internet packages to choose from, as well as excellent customer service and tips on how to reduce your internet usage. Ice Wireless offers cellular and internet services in the Northwest Territories, with a store located in Inuvik.
Other cell providers are Bell and Telus. If your current cell provider uses towers affiliated with these companies (Koodo, Virgin Mobile, etc.) and you don’t want to switch providers, you will likely be fine with the coverage you receive. Services provided through Rogers Communications are generally not supported across the Northwest Territories.
